How to Import the Demo Site Content

SoMoThemes provide an XML file that can be imported to your WordPress site. This XML file is included with your theme in a folder titled xml.

If you are planning to test the theme on a fresh WordPress installation, this file will provide you with sample test data. This is a good way to find out how your site will look when you launch your site with real content.

Steps to Import the Demo Content to Your Site

1. Unzip your child theme zip file (e.g. somosocial.zip) to your local desktop. Open the unzipped/extracted folder and locate the .xml file inside the folder named xml
2. Log into that blog as an administrator.
3. Go to Tools > Import in the blog’s admin panels.
4. Choose WordPress from the list.
5. Upload the XML file noted in step 1 using the form provided on that page.
6. You will first be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the blog or to create a new user
7. WordPress will import each of the posts, comments, and categories contained in this file into your blog
